my thoughts: Really entertaining/nail-biting romp through a zombie apocalypse alternate universe! I loved the jittery nerves hug on the roof. Just the right touch of freaked!out Sam and relieved!huggy!Dean iirc

my thoughts: Another fantastic fast-paced romp through a zombie apoc AU. This fic is so special and funny because it was a kind of cautionary tale-? The last chapter the author goes rather Max Brooksy zombie survival guide and it 's friggin glorious, hahaha.
Semira's Long I Stood. Rated PG-13, Gen, 11k. Summary: [Endverse!AU] After his phone call with Dean in "The End," Sam is exhausted. Still recovering from his near-relapse when hunters Reggie Hull and Tim Janklow tried to force him to drink demon blood and unwilling to fall into bed because Lucifer is waiting in his head, Sam sets off running.He runs straight into the end of the world, where Zachariah tells him that this is where his choices will inevitably lead him unless he plays his part. Sam finds unexpected allies in the survivors at Camp Chitaqua, and maybe―just maybe―there's still reason for hope. Maybe they won't always wind up here. Not if Sam has his say. In other words: BAMF!Sam does not know when to give up. I've always thought the end!verse needed more Sam. Plus some much-needed sorta-reconciliation between 2009!Sam and Endverse!Dean, because reasons.

my thoughts: This story is fantastic: an Endverse!AU (so with zombies), S5 Sam dealing with future!Dean, all this fantastic hurt/comfort (Semira is a h/c genius), all of it is just brilliant!!!

As Jensen becomes more desperate, those around him are clueless to his obsession, and he begins to recall how he and Jared became so close. Their sleepy town will never be the same, nor will Jensen and Jared.

my thoughts: The Crazies was a good fun b-horror with zombie-like people, so I was immediately into this premise. The story delivers: charming relationship-building between Jensen & Jared and then a fun read when the action picks up! This fic 's also in my movie fusions reclist .

my thoughts: Fantastic world-building about the zombie apoc and the poignancy of J2 reuniting after it. J2 aren 't AU original characters like all the rest of these recs - their wives+kids get dead - but they 're not named and it didn 't feel mean or anti-wife/family to me. Author did a great job showing them as so hardened and battered but coming alive again with each other. Excellent fic. PS also Dean's kid is his adopted 'ward' in the camp so it 's also in my daddies reclist .

my thoughts: Really sweet story of Jared slowly realizing he 's found love & a home in the zombie apocalypse after years surviving solo. Jensen 's got a surviving green-eyed son in this one and it 's very very cute.

Summary: Ever since the virus started spreading and the infected starting roaming the country, Jared has been living on the streets, trying his best to survive. Living in the nearby camp of survivors might be easier, except dealing with people can be more difficult than dealing with infected—especially when one of those people is Jensen. After all, getting involved gives you more to lose.

my thoughts: This fic is kinda similar to dugindeep 's story only this one 's about determinedly-loner!Jared that just has a sexytime arrangement with Jensen that develops (wonderfully) into a full-fledged romance/love. Quickreaver 's art for this story is so lovely too 😍

my thoughts: I loved how cuddly J2 were in this, especially how clingy Jared is because idk, I love scenes where Sam/Jared reaches for affection and actually gets it (preferably from Jensen/Dean for me haha). Also some very exciting zombie close calls. Just overall a very solid story for the zombies and the cuddles

Summary: Six years ago, a viral outbreak spread across the United States, turning people into zombie-like Ghouls--violent creatures that spread across the country, killing and eating their victims. Many of the unfortunate survivors were turned themselves. Now, with real safety only found inside the Walled cities, those on the outside are left to fend for themselves. When an infected Jared turns up on the doorstep of the Temple refuge, Jensen doesn't know what to think. The existence of Jared--a Ghoul that has somehow retained his humanity--is impossible, but it's only the first and least of the questions that he brings with him. Now Jensen has the government breaking down the door, and he must quickly find a balance between what he wants and what he'll allow himself to have.

my thoughts: I love anything that depicts Jared as both a sweetheart and a vicious monster and this story 100% had that. Add in some great world- and monster-building and a nicely paced romance? Oh yeah, babe.

my thoughts: Incredibly written fic. I 'm a sucker for impaired!Sam as the primary researcher in a dystopic post-apocalypse AU (in which case, the obvious next fic to read would be the Catching Hell series by adeedwithoutaname, ao3.org/series/831153 😉👍) and this fic 100% delivers.
