Lagavulin and Guinness by Snarfle. Rated NC-17, 163k words. Summary: Plenty of people had looked down on Eggsy throughout his life. He had gotten fairly used to it. Didn't mean it was fair, but he knew how these things worked. What really sucked was that the new Arthur was worse than the old one. "Eggsy grimaced. He didn 't know how to explain to Harry – who seemed like he hadn 't been discriminated against a day in his life – that the new Arthur kept giving him what amounted to suicide missions, and that he was currently bleeding out in a warehouse because of the deliberately bad intel she had given him." Also featuring: Dean is harder to get rid of than Eggsy thought, his mum is going off the deep end, there are way too many nefarious plots in play, and Eggsy is really beginning to wish that Harry would stop holding his hand and kiss him instead.

my thoughts: Oh man I remember feeling wrecked after reading this fic. In a really good way. Just the amount of suffering and angst Eggsy goes through is torturous but the plot and tension and then the incredibly written action sequences. Oh my gosh, this story has so much of everything. It's amazing and epic, honestly!

Unbreakable by LadyEmrys. Rated G, 1k words. Summary: Eggsy learnt that it was okay to cry.

my thoughts: AKA the fic where Eggsy flinches & Harry stops & hugs him. Pretty adorable.

Patience and Sheer Determination by blacktofade. Rated NC-17, 47k words. Summary: Harry goes undercover to infiltrate the circle of a corrupt overlord and is given Eggsy, a young prostitute, as a token of goodwill. Harry has to live with Eggsy and keep him safe, while maintaining his cover.

my thoughts: Surprisingly, this is a pretty sweet fic full of trust-building (and establishing equal power with one another) before going anywhere close to sex or romance, so a fantastic slow burn. Much better than Pretty Woman too ffs!

Laid to Rest by mauzymorn. Explicit, Harry/Eggsy, 84k words. Summary: After the chaotic mess that had been V-Day, everyone's got to learn to get back on their feet, right? Finding out Harry's alive does wonders to that end for Eggsy - that is, until ghosts from the past rise up to ruin it all. How could Harry not have seen this coming? Archnemeses that can't stay dead seem to come with the territory of being a spy. It's too bad that this particular ghost isn't one of Harry's... It's Eggsy's.

my thoughts: I am such a sucker for traumatized and past!Rentboy!Eggsy and this is a really amazing long fic of PTSD and recovery with Harry being there for him.
